COLLINS H. SMITH ----53 of 1635 Northeast Seventh Terrace, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. a former resident of Clarksburg, died at 8:10 o'clock Wednesday night in a local hospital after a six-week illness. Mr. Smith was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey F. Smith of Clarksburg. His father was well known attorney and real estate owner. Collins H. Smith was in business in Grafton where he resided for eight years. He moved to Florida in 1957. He became ill one week after returning to Clarksburg for a six week visit. Mr. Smith's father was widely known as an attorney, and his mother was the late Anita Collins Smith. He was the brother of the late Tommy Smith, who was lost on a airplane trip many years ago while attempting a trans-Atlantic flight. Mr.. Smith is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena Cornwell Smith. In addition to Mrs. Smith, he leaves three stepchildren, Mrs.. Joan Campbell of Philippi, Mrs. Jane Grimm and Jack Grimm, both of Ashland, Ohio. Collins H. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton and Parkersburg lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a veteran of World War II. Friends may call at the Lynch-Stacy Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM with the Rev Harry Rowe pastor of the First Baptist Church of Grafton in Grafton officiating. Graveside services will be held at Pennsboro Cemetery Saturday at 1 PM Lynch -Stacy Services.
