• James Weddle, from Philadelphia, PA 

• Charles Deland, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Possibly employed with Aeronca 

• J. Keith Davis of Boston with Inter-City Airlines, may have given Smith a revolver before flight

• Joe Umek, Resident of Detroit, flew with Tommy when they worked for an airline, former police reporter in Detroit

• Charles A Zweng,  Tommy's navigational advisor
